Welcome to the website of A Brown Estate Forestry

With over 25 years experience in the forestry sector, primarily on Estates, Andy Brown is a highly experienced forestry professional, graduating from the University of Aberdeen in 2001.

Andy has managed all aspects of forestry, from Forest Plans, through Harvesting, Timber Sales, Mensuration and Replanting. He can provide all these services as an independent Estate forester. He also has a lot of experience in managing forestry squads, fencing programs, and Estate sawmills.

Over the years Andy has managed the harvesting and sale of hundreds of thousands of tonnes of timber, as well as designing and implementing a long term forest plan over a ten year period and restocking over 600 hectares to a high standard. Andy was Head Forester (Woodlands Manager) on the expansive Castle Milk & Corrie Estates near Lockerbie for 15 years and has run a highly successful and profitable Estate forestry and fencing enterprise over this time.

Originally from Dumfries but having studied in Aberdeen, Holland and having worked in Wales, Andy lives near Lochmaben, Dumfriesshire with his family who are active in the local community.

With recent projects successfully completed on Caerlaverock Estate near Dumfries, Andy is looking for new projects large or small and in particular Estates that are looking for an experienced estate forestry specialist.

Andy is also advising the Estate on wider woodland projects. He is trustworthy, organised and incredibly knowledgeable - a pleasure to work with!"
